Summary:
Manage and lead the residential carpet manufacturing accounting group, including specialty fabrics, in providing accurate, timely and useful financial information to financial and manufacturing management. Responsible for the operation of accounting and reporting processes and systems that support these needs to ensure accurate and relevant information is provided for the managing of the manufacturing processes within the group. Responsibility includes the building of effective working relationships across the business, gathering and assimilating information, challenging numbers, in order to fully support the management of the business group.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Summary:
Direct carpet accounting function and lead analysis of operations including required business system integration
Ensure accuracy and consistency of monthly closing
Ensure management reports are accurate, consistent and completed timely
Partner with other divisions to report profit and loss on a timely basis
Responsible for oversight of budget preparation and analysis
Training and development of staff, and compliance with approved policies and procedures
Lead and/or support development of new systems/enhancements
Review and approval of funds requisitions for the group and adherence to capital policy
Partner with manufacturing management and staff to understand plant results and needed action plans
Ensure that all manufacturing plants comply with generally accepted accounting principles and company approved procedures related to material movement and inventory control
As new systems are developed continue personal development and training to become the subject matter expert or develop staff to fill that role
Responsible for reporting of suspected fraudulent activity and the designing of systems that limit the company's fraud risk
Compliance with banking agreements and preparation of needed analysis for support of the external audit, periodic bank audits, bank inventory appraisals and any other audit support needed
Display leadership qualities that will challenge existing processes and procedures and lead change
Management of both professional and hourly accounting personnel as needed
Assist cost department to ensure accurate costing of products
Approve monthly/weekly perpetual inventory, and monthly inventory ineligible amounts, for borrowing base certificates submitted to bank
Other duties as assigned

Supervision Received: Minimum supervision required, follow up with AP Finance to ensure company goals are being met and barriers are addressed.

Authority and Accountabilities:
Recommend hiring or separation of direct reports
Make decisions or recommendations as appropriate regarding proper accounting procedures and policies in order to maintain adequate controls and safeguards
Manage and lead manufacturing accounting in financial support roles to other departments and divisions
Extensive business knowledge to be able to address any needed changes to respond to manufacturing and management reporting issues
Meet time sensitive deadlines for information and manage urgent requests for information
Apply innovative information technology in management reporting and cost system analysis to help improve the business process
Work Environment: Office environment with frequent travel to facility locations.

Job
Qualifications:
A. Training/Education/License/Certification/Registrations/Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors in Accounting (or the equivalent)
CPA or CMA preferred

B. Experience Minimum Requirements:
Ten (plus) years experience in manufacturing and managerial cost accounting with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
Strong computer background with proficiency in all basic desktop software
Ability to analyze data and processes
Exemplary project management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with leading a team towards a common goal
Interpersonal skills and a strong drive to make a positive difference in the workplace

C. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time, must be able to travel to other facilities.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
